“Any athlete with desire has potential. Each athlete is unique and if we do our jobs properly they should know themselves well. I view each child as individual and important. I’m fascinated with the minds of children and feel honored to get to do what I do. I love my job!”
Molly Shawen Kollman

Molly Shawen Kollman began gymnastics in 1979 and achieved elite status by the age of eleven. From 1990 to 1993, she was a highly ranked member of the United States Gymnastics Elite National Team competing nationally and internationally for the USA. She was selected by the International Federation of Gymnastics (IFG) to demonstrate the new compulsory routines to the Unites States gymnastics community for the cycle leading up to the 1996 Olympics. Molly also has an extensive dance background including ballet, jazz, modern, and lyrical and has served as a judge, clinician, and choreographer.

After retiring from competition in 1993, she began her gymnastics coaching career providing choreography and leading clinics in both Ohio and Kentucky. In 1998, Molly represented USA Gymnastics in Africa as a coaching liaison working with the Tunisian National Gymnastics Team. She worked briefly with the Talent Opportunity Program (TOPs) National Program and also acted as a mentor for US National Team Members, a program established by USA Gymnastics. After a 10 year hiatus from the sport, Molly reactivated her professional status with USA Gymnastics and joined the Gym-Nation coaching team. She is involved with both the compulsory and optional teams and choreographs many of the optional floor routines. Molly has also served as a Coaching Clinician for Region 5.

Molly loves art, film, literature, animals, and nature. She travels to New York City whenever she can but also loves the beach and woods just as much. She is married to her best friend Jason and they have two dogs, Ryder, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and Okie, a Chihuahua. Ryder and Okie keep life interesting and comical in the Kollman household.
